SCARBOROUGH’S STUART SMYTH SCORES AGAINST MOORTOWN IN OCTOBER

Scarborough RUFC are on the road tomorrow as they take on Moortown in North One East. The Leeds-based outfit, who were promoted from Yorkshire One at the end of last season currently sit in 5th place in the table one above the men from Silver Royd.

The clubs had contrasting fortunes in their last league outings two weeks ago, Moortown going down 31-17 at second-placed Cleckheaton whilst Scarborough ran in eight tries in the 50-10 demolition of bottom club Huddersfield YMCA.

For tomorrow’s game Coach Simon Smith makes two changes from the winning line-up against Huddersfield, Sam Jackson comes in for the injured Jack Anderson and Aaron Wilson starts at No8. When the teams met earlier in the season Scarborough ran out 22-14 winners at Silver Roy in October thanks to tries from Stuart Smyth (2) and Henry Hocking; Tom Ratcliffe converted two and kicked a penalty.

Elsewhere tomorrow the Vikings entertain Beverley 3rds at Silver Royd whilst the Danesmen travel to Humberside to take on Hull University. The first round of Six Nations fixtures will be shown in the clubhouse tomorrow and Sunday.
