2017-01-10 VIKINGS ON THE CHARGE sharp

With the first fifteen having a week’s break before next Saturday’s game at Blackburn, the Vikings are the only senior team in action on Saturday.

The Silver Royd second string travel to Goole to take on Goole seconds in the semi-final of the Yorkshire Rugby Football Union’s East Division Merit table. It will be a tough game against a side that came out top in both meetings between the sides this season. However the game at Silver Royd on the 5th of January saw the Vikings come from 22 points down to lose by a single point 33-34.

For Saturday’s clash Coach Craig Bone names veteran Graeme Jeffrey at fullback with an Anderson on both wings; Jack on the right and Tom on the left! Man of the match in the 33-34 defeat scrum-half Alex Rowley teams up with Phil Stewart as the half-back pairing. Will Rennard who was drafted into the first team at the last minute last week when Tom Hicks was ruled out with an ankle injury also plays; kick-off is at 3pm.
