It’s getting down to the business end of the league season and tomorrow Scarborough RUFC who are second in NORTH ONE EAST travel to third-placed Morley for what is in essence an eight pointer with only four games left.

NORTH ONE EAST including games played on 9th March 2019

The Leeds-based outfit were relegated from the Northern Premier league at the end of the season and following a shaky start to this campaign in which they were beaten 50-17 at Silver Royd, they have won their last ten games in a row and are undefeated in 2019.

On their last outing a couple of weeks ago Morley comfortably beat Bradford and Bingley 48-7 on the road in a game where the home side garnered as many yellow cards as points-scored. The game was refereed by Andy Baker and ended in uncontested scrums. Morley have undoubtedly strengthened their squad since their 50 point defeat at Silver Royd as only two of their try-scorers in Bradford were in the their line-up at Silver Royd.

Scarborough have had a couple of weeks to recover following their 49-12 defeat of Consett at Silver Royd and make a couple of changes to the side that started that game; unfortunately Manning Smith will return to New Zealand next week to have a recurring problem with his knee investigated by a specialist. His place on the wing is taken by Matty Young with Billy Parker slotting into the centre. In the pack Cade Robinson starts at blindside flanker with Euan Govier joining Nino Cutino and Phil Stewart on the bench.

With Morley the form team in North One, tomorrow’s game will be a very tough one for Coach Simon Smith’s charges and they’ll have to dig deep to get a result to keep them in the promotion chase.
