51 year old prop Tom Fish came off the bench in the second half to star in Scarborough RUFC’s 29-19 win on the road at Cleckheaton this afternoon.

Tries by fullback Jimmy Perrett and No8 Ben Martin saw the Seasiders lead 10-6 at the break following a hard-fought first half.

A second Perrett touchdown converted by flyhalf Tom Ratcliffe and a try from Scrumhalf Jordi Wakeham stretched the visitors’ lead to 22-6.

In a nail-biting finish Cleckheaton ran in a late try before flanker Euan Govier put the issue beyond doubt with a try converted by Ratcliffe. Cleckheaton grabbed an injury-time consolation touchdown but Scarborough went on to win 29-19 for a bonus-point which keeps them at the top of NORTH ONE EAST.
