Scarborough defend at a scrum against York in January at Silver Royd

At the moment I’m not sure if I’ll make It to Silver Royd for Saturday’s local derby with North One East leaders York as I’m still in hospital following a ‘heart do’ on Sunday night, so fingers crossed.

The men from Clifton Park have made a great start to their campaign and are league-leaders on points-scored difference from Bridlington. They were surprisingly beaten 31-30 by Malton & Norton at the Gannock in their last away fixture but bounced back with the 34-20 home defeat of Bradford & Bingley last week.

Skipper Matty Jones’ men continued their good form with the 45-27 defeat of West Leeds on the road last week, running in seven tries for a bonus point and moving up to fourth in the table.

Last season we were soundly thrashed 56-7 by the minstermen at Clifton Park early in the season but made a better fist of things going down 14-17 following a hard-fought home game in January.

Drew Govier

for Saturday’s game Drew Govier is unavailable and is replaced by Aaron Wilson; Aaron’s berth in the engine room is taken by Luke Brown.

In the backs Joe Marshall plays on the wing for Jonty Holloway who has returned to Newcastle University; newcomer Cade Robinson joins fit-again Nino Cutino and Jordan Holloway on the bench.
