TOM HICKS ABOUT TO WIN A LINEOUT PHOTOGRAPH: DAVE CAMPBELL
An attritional encounter at Silver Royd saw a much-reshuffled Scarborough side fall deservedly 0-7 behind league-leaders Morpeth half way through the first half of a hard-fought North One East clash at Silver Royd. However the Seasiders ran in three unanswered tries in the second quarter to lead 19-7 at the break.
An unconverted try ten minutes into the second half saw the Geordies cut the gap to seven points at 19-12; however a penalty goal from Tom Ratcliffe stretched the Seasiders lead to 22-12. A late unconverted touchdown saw the visitors reduce the arrears to 17-22. However a terrific defensive display late in the game saw the Seasiders hold on for a memorable win.
