Following last Saturday’s 40-31 bonus-point defeat of Moortown at Silver Royd Scarborough make their longest road trip of the season on Saturday to take on North Ribblesdale in the penultimate league game of the 2017/2018 campaign.

‘Ribb’ are in bottom place in Yorkshire One having won only four games this season against Keighley, Hullensians, Old Brodlieans and Selby; all at home. Last Saturday they went down 23-38 at Beverley.

When Scarborough met North Ribb at Silver Royd on the 10th of February they ran out convincing 33-0 winners thanks to tries from Jimmy Perrett (2), Sam Dawson, Aaron Wilson and Ben Martin; Tom Ratcliffe converted four.

For the Seasiders, wins at Ribb’s Grove Park ground have been few and far between but last season they won a hard-fought game 21-20 at a ground where they had gone down 21-42 the previous season then went on to win  the home game 56-3!

For this vital must-win promotion game Coach Simon Smith makes only one personnel change, Phil Watson returns in the second row having been unavailable against Moortown last week. Skipper Matty Jones moves back into the front row for Mikey Whitton who departs for Australia on Saturday. Prop Paul Taylor returns to the squad and is front row replacement on the bench where he’s joined by Chris Purdy and Matty Young who returns from injury. Elsewhere in senior rugby, the Danesmen are on the road at Hullionians. Both games kick off at 3pm.
