It’s match day and this afternoon Scarborough entertain York at Silver Royd. The men from Clifton Park are unbeaten this campaign with fourteen straight wins including the 56-7 thrashing of Scarborough back in September.

York’s record speaks for its self and they will travel east today looking to continue their marvellous season. Last week they completed the double over Wheatley Hills with a 38-15 win in south Yorkshire.

Since that defeat at Clifton Park Coach Simon Smith’s charges have garnered eleven try bonus points to sit in second place despite a string of injuries. Last Saturday they lost the services of Jordan Wakeham with flu as he was about to return from knee surgery at Selby. However the line-up was re-shuffled including Jimmy Perrett moving to scrum-half and the Seasiders came away from Sandhill Lane with another bonus point and a 29-17 win following a hard-fought game in bitterly cold conditions.

For this afternoon’s game Matty Young returns from long-term injury on the wing whilst in the forwards Paul Taylor plays at tight-head prop for the unavailable Nino Cutino. A tweet I saw yesterday reported that Jordi Wakeham and Euan Govier would NOT be playing today so you’ll have to roll up to Silver Royd later to see who is playing?  The Danesmen are also in action today at Pocklington whilst tomorrow the VALKRYIES take on BISHOP AUCKLAND in a ladies league match.
