Scarborough travel to Old Rishworthians tomorrow looking to continue their good league form which has seen them lose only one Yorkshire League game a 56-7 defeat by league-leaders York on the road. However they have recorded six bonus-point win the last being their 37-5 defeat of Old Brodlieans at Silver Royd last week.

Old Rishworthians were promoted as runners-up to Moortown in Yorkshire Two last season and have had mixed fortunes so far this campaign. The Halifax-based outfit have recorded three wins; a terrific 25-18 result on the road (or should I say down the road; it’s a very short distance!) at Heath and home victories over North Ribblesdale and Wheatley Hills. Last week they were beaten 25-12 at home by Middlesbrough.

For tomorrow’s game Rishworthians will be without centre Ben Wainwright with concussion and wing Kian Stewart who is out with an ankle injury. Player-Coach Chris Stone is an injury doubt but influential prop Harry Whitfield returns after missing last week’s defeat by Middlesbrough. The only change from last week’s lineup for the visitors is Phil Stewart at fly-half who replaces Tom Harrison who had his hand broken in two places by a stamp from a Brods player last week.

Although this is the first time the clubs’ have met in the league, there is one result from a meeting in the Yorkshire Challenge Shield in 2013 when Scarborough won 44-7 at Rishworthians’ Copley HQ.

Also in action tomorrow are the Vikings who entertain Bridlington 2nds at Silver Royd, kick-off 3pm.
