Scarborough ran in nine tries without reply in a 56-3 thrashing of visitors North Ribblesdale at Silver Royd yesterday.
The Seasiders opened the scoring with a penalty from skipper Tom Ratcliffe before running in a couple of tries, one converted, in a lethargic first half performance which nevertheless saw them lead 15-3 at the break, veteran flyhalf Michael Thwaite having landing a penalty for the visitors.
A try from wingman Graeme Jeffery within a minute of the re-start got the second-half off to a flying start and Coach Lee Douglas’ charges took control scoring seven touchdowns without reply including a brace apiece for Jeffrey and prop Wesley Langkilde.
A great second forty minutes in which young second row James Leach and returning veteran prop Paul Taylor delighted a big turnout saw the Seasiders avenge an early season 21-42 reverse against the same opposition and earn a bonus point which moves them up to fifth in Yorkshire One.
