Scarborough snatched a late 29-29 draw at strugglers Yarnbury last week. They thought they had begun to turn the corner as far as injuries are concerned, only to have returnee Anthony Coffey injure a collarbone in his first game for months. So he will be missing from Tomorrow’s line-up at Old Brodleians after that brief appearance.

PHIL STEWART PLAYS AT FLY-HALF TOMORROW
Also missing from the squad is second row Mikey Readman who suffered an eye injury at Yarnbury and Toby Welsby who is unavailable. With Tom Harrison still injured and Tomasz Chadwick playing at centre, Phil Stewart makes a rare first team appearance at fly-half. He’ll feel like a veteran in the company of Drew Govier, Ben Martin, Jack Ireland, Liam Murray, Matty Young, Joe Lenton and Hayden Ogilvie et al. Coach Lee Douglas has also added Jack Anderson to the squad.

Old Brodleians are having a mixed season and sit mid-table in Yorkshire One; the Halifax-based outfit have yet to win this year having lost at North Ribblesdale and Malton on the road. However, their last home outing saw them inflict a rare defeat (17-8) on third-placed Bridlington on the Saturday before Christmas.

When Scarborough and ‘Brods’ met earlier in the season they fought out an entertaining 31-31 draw at Silver Royd. They came from behind to snatch the draw but highlights of the afternoon were try hat-tricks from Tom Ratcliffe for the home side and Samoan No8 Simanu Tusinga for Brods. Both play on Saturday so it could be another high-scoring bonanza.
Also tomorrow the Vikings entertain Beverley at Silver Royd on Saturday with a possible 3rd XV game in the offing against Pocklington.
