TOM RATCLIFFE CROSSES FOR ANOTHER TRY
Tom Ratcliffe won the Top Male Achiever award at the Scarborough and District Sports Council awards at the Spa on Monday evening. The big centre who was brought up on Rugby League and travelled abroad with British Colleges taking the game to Kazakhstan in 2010, signed on at Silver Royd at the start of last season and was an immediate hit in the fifteen-man game becoming the club’s leading try scorer in his first season. During the summer he teamed up with Craig Farrell for the Pirates RL side that won the team award, and continued in prolific form at Eastway. Now back at Silver Royd for the winter Tom is the club’s leading points and try scorer having taken over kicking duties from Tom Harrison. I’m sure this publicity-shy, self effacing twin code star will as usual be making little fuss about his award and will continue piling up the points for Scarborough.
