Schutz (white No9) puts in at a scrum in his native Czech Republic
Czech Republic international Zbyněk Schütz who joined Scarborough this summer has been chosen to represent his country over the next couple of weekends. The Czech Republic take on Sweden in Prague on Saturday then travel to Dnepropetrovsk to play Ukraine on the 17th of this month. Nicknamed ‘spinners ’by his teammates who find it difficult to pronounce his first name, the Scarborough scrum-half has been a regular for his international XV who play in the Federation of International Rugby Associations (Division One). With no Yorkshire One game on Saturday the unavailability of Schutz will be a bit of good fortune for the Seasiders but he will also be on international duty when they take on Pontefract at Silver Royd next week. Zbynec who hails from Brno, the home of the Bren Gun, played for Sparta Prague before travelling to Yorkshire, and is really looking forward to playing for his country as any sportsman would. As they would say in Spinners’ native tongue, ‘Hodne stesti (good luck).
