SCARBOROUGH VI COLLEGE’S THIRD TRY SCORED BY JOSH GRETTON
Just had a very pleasant afternoon at Silver Royd where Scarborough RUFC played host to the Scarborough Sixth Form College’s game with Wolferton Six Form College. In a spirited game the visitors from Humberside led 21-17 at the break but the Scarborough lads who are coached by Scarborough RUFC Youth Development Officer Tom Harrison, came back strongly to score three second half tries without reply to run out deserved 34-21 winners. Got me into the mood for Saturday’s trip to Bridlington to take on the men from Dukes Park. The Scarborough squad is unchanged from the side that overwhelmed visitors Heath 79-12 except that Luke Raines starts at prop with Paul Taylor on the bench and Phil Watson returns in the second row. In the game at Brid last year the home side had too much for the Seasiders and ran out 45-12 winners of an entertaining game. Skipper Phil Watson and his men will look to avenge that reverse with his side’s first win at Dukes Park since their 9-3 Yorkshire One victory in September 2009.
