South Africa v England: Joe Marler and Tom Johnson named in starting XV for first Test in Durban

Quins prop Joe Marler and Exeter flanker Tom Johnson will make their England debuts in tomorrow’s first test of Stuart Lancaster’s men’s tour to South Africa. Ben Foden starts on the wing for the injured Dave Strettle whilst Harlequins’ fullback Mike Brown comes in at fullback. The game at Kings Park, Durban will be the only game in the three test series to be played at sea level and gives England a great opportunity to get off to a winning start as Lancaster’s stewardship of the national side enters a post honeymoon phase following a good start in the six nations. I’ll be watching the game at a hopefully packed  J.M. Guthrie clubhouse tomorrow and if the weather is kind enjoy a South African style ‘Briaa’ BBQ pre match. Oh yea and don’t forget to settle down early tomorrow to the the Taffs and Paddy’s in action  against Australia and the All Blacks respectively. The Safie-Anglos game kicks off at 4pm.
